We do all kinds and sizes of flutes. Wood, limb, bamboo, river cane, bone, horn and any other material that will make a good instrument.
Kapotahi being a proud native Maori from New Zealand, we have now started making more Maori flutes and instruments. The Maori have a rich culture of instruments that are wonderful and very collectable. All of them have been personally designed and adorned by Kapotahi.

OUR FLUTES
The flutes we make are one of a kind. We do not template designs or make a truck load of the same old thing.
Each flute is hand crafted and precision tuned to mode 1 and 4 in pentatonic. We use 2 tuners on each flute to make sure the tuning is at it's very best. I spend a great amount of time to make sure each flute is at it's higest quality voicing.
We have a big following of our bamboo and cane flutes on the west coast. I want to thank all of those that have spread the word of our instruments. We have been honored and blessed with your help.
I have been making many more of the bamboo flutes and I hope to keep a small supply as I can find time. I am always happy to make one as we get the orders for them. Just mail me and let me know what you would like and we can arrange the exchange.
If you are tired of looking for a flute that sounds good, is fun and is easy to play? Look no further. I am sure once you get one of these flutes in your hands you will love how easy and nice they play. The special design cedar voicing that I use for these flutes is like nothing you have heard before. They are loud, very clear and super easy to play. I spend up to 2 years curing my bamboo stock so that each flute is of the best quality you can find. The tuning and voicing is the very best available.

Prices for the bamboo flutes with our special cedar block voicing will range as follows
$60.00 for the ultra high keys A, G# and G
$60.00 for the high keys F#, F, E and Eb
$65.00 for the high mid keys D, C and C#
$70.00 for the mid keys B and Bb
$80.00 for the mid keys F# and F
$85.00 for the low mid keys E and Eb
$100 for the low keys of C#, C ($150 if side blown is required)
$185.00 and up contra bass flutes in keys of B, Bb & A (Side blown Design) We have a very Limited supply of bamboo available for these big keys. Ordering may take 3-6 weeks for delivery if material is in stock.
Walking stick flutes $125 and up (limited availability) contact for keys and price.
HOT NEW FLUTE DESIGN !!
Inline drone, made from bamboo or river cane. It can be a flute or walking stick. A hot new item I just started making this year. A inline drone made from one length of bamboo with each flute 180 degrees of each other. A side mouth piece is used on this flute. These flutes are very limited. They are loud and will turn heads when played. A hot new design with prices start at $175.00 and up.
I have now got a few of these inline drones with a split mouth piece. This allows you to play the inline drone like a side by side drone. When available I have these in bamboo and a few in select woods. Prices start at $225.00
FLUTE ACCESSORIES & DECORATIONS
Decorations and inlays can be added to most all flutes for a additional price. Personal or custom work is our specialty.
Wood burnings - mail for price per size and design. Simple accent designs are as little as $5.00 per flute.
$5.00 each - for a 1/4" cabachon added to your flute (Turquoise and Malachite available)
$5.00 each - Leather flute wrap with branded design. 1" & 1.5" wide available. Laces included
$1.00 each - leather thongs 1/4" wide x 24" long. Gold, Black and Tan colors.

Should you find something you like I will work with you the best way I can to get you an instrument that will be one of your favorites. As I said I would prefer that you would have a chance to actually hold the flute and play it. Sometimes this is just not possible.
