About us:
We have very close ties in New Zealand and my wahine (kapden Niro) and myself wish to help the people of the world get in touch with New Zealand and it's culture. It is one of the most wonderful places in the world. We are based inside the USA where we are producing traditional & modern Maori art. Our carving affiliation is based from the Tuhoe and Kahungunu tribes of the north islands east coast. Our work force is made up of "Kapden-Niro", a native NZ Maori and myself "The New Zealand Trader", of native American decent. Together our carving and art experience is over 25 years and running. Our knowledge of Maori art extensive. Our goal will be to bring wonderful hand made Maori crafted items to eBay for the masses. We will always do our best to bring these items to you at a great price as well as reasonable cost & fast shipping. We will be doing our best to give the most accurate description and the true meaning of each item up for bid. We will hope the true meanings of the items created will intrigue you and help you to understand the culture better. There is no art created by a true Maori that does not have such an in-depth meaning as to it's conception of creation. One thing is for sure, with the gracious help of my beautiful Maori wahine, Kapotahi. We will be sure to give you the most accurate descriptions possible when it comes to Maori treasures. Our feedback rating is growing by the day. If you have a good look I think you will find that we try hard to be honest and give our customers the quality they expect.
Working hours:
We normally ship Monday through Friday so your shipping will almost always go out the next working day of the post office. I work a M-F 8-5 job so please be patient on the e-mails if I don't respond immediately.
THE TRUTH ART?
Quality not quantity The carvings we do are from pure and raw materials. We never use composite bone or dyed jade. It is not in our nature to do so. Each piece we make is done by hand with raw materials and created as it has been done by true native carvers of New Zealand for centuries. There are so many carvings coming to ebay at ridiculously low prices. One should think of why anyone would spend hours and days on a carving just to sell it for pennies. I know much about why these carvings that claim to be Maori made carvings. I think it would not be proper to list the whole truth for all to see. I do respect other sellers. Sources inside New Zealand have spelled the whole concept out to me and tell me that other NZ carvers are not very happy with what is happening to there market. Many hours of hard work go into a true carving. Much blood & sweat is produced to make such true treasures. With a good thought from those that really question the idea of why people can sell these low cost items. I am sure you can get a good idea of what is going on. As native carvers we work hard to bring quality hand made carvings to ebay at a great price. If you want something that is quality made and different from anything else just give us a look. We will not be selling these carvings from China and India. If you wish to support real art and not slave labor please give any of the true NZ native carvers a good look. You will not be disappointed with the quality and originality. It is only from the heart that brings true treasures. Much mana to all that create from originality. Cheers to all of you. Our Work
We are working hard to bring all new designs to every auction. Each carving is unique and when it says "one off carving" you can be assured that you will be looking at something that has not been done before. Once a one off carving has been sold we will not repeat that carving for anyone but the true owner. You can be sure of true quality in every carving produced by NZT Designs. If you want something special that is hand made quality please have a look at our carvings. We are taking are our art work to the limits so you can own something that is very special to only you.

We do custom work for those that need something more detailed to there liking. Please contact us if you want something you don't see. All NZT Designs are made in our shop. You can buy direct from the source and have it done to your details if you wish. Kapotahi has taken up most of the bone carving work so I can concentrate on producing many fresh pieces of jade and other exciting stones. We have been very fortunate to have some resources in New Zealand that have helped us collect materials for our jade carvings. Not all of our jade work will be done with true native New Zealand jade. You can bet one thing with our creations. Everything we do has the same pride in each piece. I will be sure to post the type of jade it is so you can choose from the types of jade we have available. We have a big passion for most all jade. Our stock pile is growing weekly. It will take a while to use it up. Many types of jade we have for sale are very rare. Quantities are very limited and will be posted as such. Our creations have grown into many new materials from near and far. Keep watch for the exciting new materials that will be produced in the Maori style. Something for those that just like to be different. In 2005 we will open a small ebay store. I know allot of people have been frustrated with the bidding process. We hope that the store will allow a choice for those that just want something special and don't want to wait.
